Our Story

Cavaliers,

since 1977

We have always been a family team, Caryna and Tom, Christa and Carson. Our family has been involved in Cavaliers for a long time, for most of our respective lives.

We live on several beautiful wooded acres in Northern Virginia.

Caryna bought her first Cavalier back in 1977, before this now-familiar breed was known in the USA. After contacting the original registry for our breed, the CKCSC-USA, she managed to find a puppy from a local breeder. Ravinia Shannon, "Amber", came into our lives. In those days, a Cavalier puppy cost $250, and Amber was purchased with hard-earned babysitting money. Amber grew up along side Caryna, starting with the high school years, then undergraduate school, on to marriage and banking career. Amber was a beloved companion. She lived to a few days shy of 15 years old, having led a wonderful Cavalier's life.

In the eighties, as Amber was aging, we decided to add a little tri-color girl to the family. Sophie was a sweet little soul...and we started to show her in the CKCSC, which at that time, was the only Club which kept a registry and stud book (in the USA) for Cavaliers. Unfortunately, we found out through health-testing that our girl had retinal dysplasia, SM, MVD, slipping patella’s, and more. This quickly ended her show career. Sophie was spayed and lived her life as a devoted companion, to age 11. During this time, we were very fortunate to become friends with great exhibitor/breeders who took Cavalier health testing very seriously, and they taught us the ropes.

By Spring of 2005, we brought home our beloved girl "Molly", Chadwick First Impressions, acquired from Ms. Anne Eckersley Robins, of Chadwick Cavaliers, in Connecticut. Soon, our young daughter, Christa, began competing in Children's Handling in the CKCSC-USA, and when she was old enough, she began competing in the AKC Juniors program as well. Christa handled all our dogs in the ring with grace and confidence. Molly is one of our foundation bitches, and we are forever grateful to Anne for all of her support and mentoring, to this very day. Love ya, Anne! You will find Molly behind many of our pedigrees. Molly’s pedigree went back to some of Anne’s oldest and best Chadwick lines.

Cavaliers are like potato chips, and it’s hard to stop at just one! As the years roll by, we have become more and more active in both of our clubs. Caryna has held a number of elected board positions and has been appointed to do committee work at both the national and regional levels. We continue to exhibit our award-winning dogs, and occasionally we love to usher new babies into the world.

Please enjoy this website. It is meant to serve as a resource for our puppy families. Our intent is to share what we have learned over the years from other experienced Cavalier breeder/exhibitors. We hope you find this site helpful as you search for your perfect companion Cavalier.

We are affiliated with and active in both the CKCSC-USA and the AKC clubs. We enjoy showing in both clubs and we dual register our dogs.
